April 22, 2023 RIDE

Hello Members

We had a great pre ride on Sunday.

Our monthly ride is Saturday, April 22.  We will be riding from the west side of the Salt River Canyon to the Salt River for lunch and returning on the same trail.  Sunday we saw lots of wild flowers and the temperature was perfect. We had great panoramic views. You will need to layer clothing as it did get warm by the river and was cool on top.

This is a 40 mile intermediate ride, NOT for beginners.  Ninety percent of the trail is OK but you will have some rocky areas and steep down hills and up hills.  Be sure your machine is in good working condition and you have good tires.

We plan to caravan from the LDS Church parking lot, at the intersection of US60 and 260 at 7:30 AM.  It’s 55 miles and one hour to the staging area.  If you are traveling on you own the staging area is between milepost 283 and 284 on US 60 and you will be turning west for a short distance before parking.

As usual bring a lunch, lots of drink and snacks.

Please RSVP to this email if you plan to go with us.  I would hate to leave someone behind.

May 21 St. Ride

A trailered ride led by Chuck and Pam Wood. Trailering to Clifford Wise’s land where the cellular tower on US 191 a couple of miles south of Nelson Reservoir is located. The ride will begin at 9 am. From Clifford Wise’s property, our staging location, we will ride toward Loco Knoll and the northeast side of the Escudilla mountain. The ride distance will be approximately 42 miles. The route does have areas that are rocky and there are a few technical areas (off-camper, steep, narrow and high clearance segments) that make this a moderate to advanced skill level ride.

riders should dress in layers (normal for our spring weather), and bring lunch, snacks and drinks. We expect a return to Clifford’s around 3:00PM Please RSVP to [email protected] or 928-242-343- if you will be there.

Hi WMOTA Members,

We are planning a new and different ride for November to the Red Onion in Heber, for lunch, on Saturday, November 13th.

We are staging at the corrals on Pinedale Rd.  Take Highway 260 to Pinedale Rd., turn right (east) about 1 ½ miles to the corrals.  We will depart at 9:00 am.

The weather is forecast to be 60 degrees and sunny but it never hurts to be prepared.  Please have your machines in good working order, gassed and ready to go.  Bring snacks and drinks but no lunch.

I am asking for an RSVP to this email so I can give the restaurant a count for our reservation.  If you are going with us, reply to this email, with how many are going by, Thursday, November 11th.
